Registrars accepted into the Sturt Fleurieu program who are not practice ready will need to do a further 12 months in a hospital setting before entering general practice.
During that year they will gain experience in a variety of areas through rotations and it is hoped that these rotations will be approached with their value to general practice knowledge, skills and attitudes at the forefront of the registrar’s mind.
Sturt Fleurieu will be running a series of educational evenings for these hospital based Registrars and this program is developed and coordinated by Dr Ian McCombe who is himself a former Sturt Fleurieu Registrar.
