Hills nets $500,000 for palliative care

More than $500,000 has been allocated to the Hills to improve palliative care services in the region over the next three years.
The Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice is one of eight divisions in Australia chosen for funding under the Federal Government's rural palliative care program.

GP denies doctor shortage

The Hills area is not suffering a "chronic shortage" of doctors, according to the new SA member of a national doctor's board, Michael Taylor of Mt Barker.
Dr Taylor was refuting a claim in The Advertiser on Monday which stated a doctor from Magill had been given a Federal grant to move to Bridgewater because of the chronic shortage of doctors in the Hills.

Krista Maier, an Advanced Term registrar with SFGPET, attended the 2nd National Palliative Care Education Conference in Adelaide,13-14 May 2004, where she presented a paper. Krista undertook a Palliative Care Special Skills Term at TQEH in 2003, and her presentation at the conference was one of the many results of this term for her.
