Upcoming Event: Pallitive Care Forum

Wednesday 8th June - Communications with Patients and Family at End of Life - Pallitive Care Forum. This event will feature guidelines for communication in pallitive care based on experience rather than experiment and will also include video clips to highlight when 'grounding' occurs.

This forum will be provided to participants free of charge, but will be restricted to medical practitioners only.

Upcoming Course: Smoking - An Indigenous Health Issue

Tuesday 24th May - Nearly half of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults smoke compared to less than one fifth of other adults. Smoking prevalence is higher in remote areas. The challenge for health practitioners and communities is to develop innovative and effective ways of addressing tobacco use in Indigenous communities.

 

This program assists health practitioners with the knowledge and understanding to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people quit smoking. A range of interventions to both help prevent tobacco use and assist Indigenous Australians to quit are examined.
